Mohamed Elsheikh, MD, MPH
As a surgeon with a foundation in public health, my goal is to provide comprehensive, preventive, and patient-centered surgical care that improves both individual and community health outcomes. I am passionate about delivering meticulous, holistic, and compassionate care that prioritizes each patient’s unique needs. My approach integrates the principles of prevention and early detection with evidence-based procedural and surgical solutions to help patients achieve long-term wellness and peace of mind.
Areas of Care
I focus on providing general surgery and endoscopic services with particular expertise in screening and diagnostic endoscopy. This includes performing screening colonoscopies for cancer prevention, managing and diagnosing sources of gastrointestinal bleeding, and conducting upper endoscopy (EGD) for conditions such as reflux disease, hiatal hernia, and peptic ulcer disease. My goal is to ensure that every patient receives thorough, informed, and preventive care that emphasizes early intervention and long-term health.
Education
I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota, where I earned a Bachelor of Science dual-degree in Biochemistry and Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development. I went on to complete my Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2019, while simultaneously earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. I then completed my General Surgery residency training at Oregon Health & Science University in 2024, followed by a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Advanced Endoscopy at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in 2025.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of medicine, I value balance and time spent recharging through travel, the outdoors, and quality time with family and friends. Whether exploring new places, hiking, or simply enjoying good company and good food, I believe that a well-rounded life enhances the care I provide to my patients.
