'Tis the Season for Plantar Fasciitis
Your plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes, can present pain and inflammation as Plantar Fasciitis. Repetitive motion from everyday activities often aggravates the tendon, and causes the issue. Other things can cause Plantar Fasciitis like having a foot structure with a high arch, or flat feet. Lack of proper footwear is also a culprit. If you experience pain with the first steps you take in the morning, you might have Plantar Fasciitis. Treatment includes night splints, which would keep your feet flexed throughout the night, relieving the tissue from the painful shock of steps the next morning.
