Staying Healthy as You Age
While there are natural supplements that can assist in health management as individuals age, they should not be considered a replacement or "fixer" for neglecting other pillars of personal healthcare. Eat a healthy diet. Move your body. Get enough sleep. Manage your stress levels. Once those are established, then you can consider supplements. My personal recommendations for everyone include: fish oil in 1,000 - 3,000 mg per day. Fish oil is good for your heart, brain, reduces inflammation, and some studies show it can reduce the risk of chronic heart disease, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's. Vitamin D is another option for supplementing that makes sense for nearly everyone, 4,000 - 5,000IU a day. This supports bone health and density. Joint health and stability can be supported by a glucosamine supplement, which i consider an international fountain of youth. Tune in as Michael Milbauer, DC explains how else you can support your optimal health.
